A local residential client wanted to renovate a newly purchased property, introducing a range of modern features and updates to the existing design. The project would include removing and raising the existing roof, adding a rear extension and overhauling both the interior and exterior of the property.

As a fully qualified architectural designer and project manager, took on all aspects of the work including design, planning, building regulations, costing, project management and implementation.

Key tasks within the project included:

  • Creating initial concept designs
  • Managing applications for planning and building regulation approval
  • Collating full working details and building a specification to enable pricing
  • Overseeing the construction – managing all issues, conducting weekly site meetings and ensuring a high quality finish.

Successfully completed the project on time and on budget. The client was very pleased with the knowledge of the planning process and the professional service demonstrated over the course of the project. Following an independent survey after the renovation, the client was pleased to discover that their property had grown in value and had covered the cost of the refurbishment.
